Martin studied photography at Bury College and later gained Licentiateship of The Master Photographers Association and of The Royal Photographic Society. In 2007 Martin was The North West Reportage Photographer of the Year and this year received the silver award in The North West Classical Wedding Photographer of the Year category.

In 2009 he accepted an invitation to serve on the North West Regional Committee of the Master Photographers Association.

With the introduction of digital photography he has expanded his business to include portraits, restoration projects, commercial and insurance contracts.

Martin now lectures at photographic seminars on the use of Adobe Photoshop.
